Welcome 2012
-
January 6, 2012
This year has been both rewarding and tough. I have met some wonderful people, lost some good friends, and started in some new directions. I am working slowly and steadily on a new CD project, which features violin goddess Steph Dlugon, guitar style guru Jonboy Slim, and the lovely mandolin sounds of Randy "Mando Rando" Brewer. I am extremely proud of this batch of songs and excited to share the project with you.
In the mean time, I am working on other projects that are taking a lot of my time as well--including doing research on sustainable energy alternatives and renovating an old farm house with the lovely and talented Helen. Life is busy but good. Check back for more dates in the spring and summer.
Peace,
Jenrose
A New Year, A New Direction
-
January 19, 2011
The new year is starting off with a bang, and taking me in some fabulous new directions. I am playing a little, recording a little, and writing A LOT. I am excited about the new recording project that is beginning to take shape... more on this at a later date.
In other news, I have started playing with a fabulous violin player named Steph Dlugon. She lives in Cleveland, so it is a long distance musical relationship - but well worth the commute! When you hear her play, you'll unerstand why. So look for an Ohio tour with this violin goddess in the spring or summer.
Until then, I will be hibernating this winter, playing a gig here and there. One such gig in February is a songwriter circle in Austin, TX with the fabulous Nancy Scott and the pop/ spoken word duo Kri and Hettie. It is a blessing to be in the company of such talented women.
Hope to see you soon and until then... keep cowgirlin' up!

Still Cowgirlin' Up

August 18, 2010
So much has been happening, I forgot to mention what a FABULOUS set of CD releases we had for the new CD, Cowgirl Up. In Louisville @ the Monkey Wrench we were surrounded by great friends and musicians as we cranked it out to a full house, then stayed around and enjoyed the energy of the church-on-the-rocks crew. BEAUTIFUL night. Then we played a CD release house concert in Columbus Ohio with the amazing Mando Rando and the incomparable Steph Dlugon on the violin... OUCH!
Now we are playing some gigs, spreading the word about the new CD, and finishing renovations on our farm house (which is itself a full-time job!) Still cowgirlin' it up out here in Stamping Ground.
Love and peas to all and hope to see your smiling faces soon!

Cowgirl Up

Greetings, Fellow Bootleggers!
Many have asked why we haven't been playing as much lately.
The reason is that we are currently finishing up a CD, called Cowgirl Up. This project has taken some time, as Jenrose is co-producing it and learning a lot in the process. But we are very excited about the project, the songs, and about working with Kathy Weisbach, our sound engineer and co-conspirator. Kathy has been incredibly supportive and a joy to work with. Many talented friends are playing on various songs as well - including guest appearances by memebrs of the Sirens, the Troubadours of Divine Bliss, A Loose Affiliation, and many others. We look forward to sharing these songs and this project with you.
In the mean time, come and catch us - solo or duo - when the opportunity arises. We thank you for supporting independent music.
Peace,
Jenrose (& Helen)

Greetings, fellow bootleggers!
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU for all who turned out for our CD release on Saturday night. What a fabulous evening!! You far exceeded our expectations - evidenced by the fact that we sold out of CDs before we even took the stage. Wow. We are so grateful for your incredible support and enthusiasm. For those who "pre-ordered" the CD after we ran out, your CD will be in your hot little hands very soon.
A special shout all to Angie, Christy, Kathy and Nick for sitting in; the Troubadours for blessing and blissing our special night; Luster for the fabulous tribute to Solomon Burke; and the Soapbox Sirens for giving us such incredible energy and help. Head and Kri, you lift us up every time. Trevor, you are an expert merch guy. What more can we say? Y'all rock.
Cowgirl Up!!

Make Your Own...

February 1, 2007
Greetings, fellow bootleggers!
Many have asked why we aren't playing much right now. The answer is that we are working on our second CD, "Make Your Own," due out in late summer/ early fall. We are pleased to be working with Kiya Heartwood of Outlaw Hill Studios once again. We are very excited about this project and can't wait to share it with you.
In other bootlegger news, we are happy to report that one of Jenrose's songs for the new CD, "To My Lucinda (Lose These Blues)," has been selected as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition! How cool is that? We think it is pretty darn cool.
Keep on rockin' til soon...
